All volunteers and staff attending clubs must complete a written application and complete a criminal background check, which includes a sex offender registry check. Completing this application is an agreement to adhere to this policy:

1. Individuals may not serve with minors if:
   1. They have a conviction for child abuse, sexual misconduct, violent offenses, or other disqualifying crimes.
   2. References indicate concerns regarding suitability.
   3. They refuse required screening or training.
2. Before serving and annually thereafter, volunteers must complete training covering:
   1. Signs of abuse and neglect.
   2. Grooming behaviors.
   3. Appropriate boundaries.
   4. Reporting procedures.
   5. Emergency response procedures.
   6. Electronic communication guidelines.

   Training records will be maintained by Priority Kids.

3. At least two screened adults must be present during activities involving minors whenever reasonably possible.
4. Activities should occur in rooms with windows or open doors, or in public or observable spaces where interactions can be monitored.
5. One-on-one meetings with minors should be avoided.
6. Examples of appropriate physical contact:
   1. Handshakes.
   2. High-fives or fist bumps.
   3. Side hugs.
7. Examples of prohibited physical contact:
   1. Lap sitting.
   2. Extended embraces.
   3. Massages.
   4. Touching areas covered by a swimsuit.
   5. Physical discipline of any kind.
8. Volunteers must maintain professional communication with parents only.
9. Social Media Communications:
   1. Volunteers must maintain professional boundaries online.
   2. Volunteers should avoid private social media conversations with minors.
   3. Volunteers should not post identifying information about minors without appropriate permission.
10. Immediate (within 24 hours) reporting to the school administration is required of any volunteer who:
    1. Witnesses abuse.
    2. Suspects abuse.
    3. Receives a disclosure of abuse.

    Volunteers must immediately notify Priority Kids leadership and follow applicable mandatory reporting laws.

11. Volunteers should not investigate allegations themselves, but should:
    1. Report concerns.
    2. Preserve information.
    3. Cooperate with authorities.

In the event an incident is reported, Priority Kids commits to:

1. Ensure immediate safety of the minor.
2. Comply with mandatory reporting laws.
3. Notify insurance carriers when appropriate.
4. Document actions taken.
5. Cooperate with law enforcement and child protective services.
